Alzheimer's and Dementia Care

As many as 4.5 million people suffer from varying stages of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) in the United States alone. AD is a common form of dementia that negatively impacts the portions of the brain that effect thought, memory and language. The initial symptoms may be as minor as forgetting names or recent events, but as the disease progresses, the Alzheimer's patient may wander, become anxious or even aggressive.

Most people hope to age safely and comfortably in their own home, including those managing AD. Golden Heart Senior Care can assist in this area so that Alzheimer's patients can safely stay in their own home for a period of time.

Our caregivers receive formal training by local chapters of the Alzheimer's Association or the Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center (ADEAR) in how to provide in-home care for AD patients. Our level of care includes:

• Assisting the patient with eating habits and meal planning that is healthy

• Assist patients with dressing and personal grooming

• Aid in communication

• Implement home safety measures to prevent driving and wandering
